Terms & Conditions.

These are the rules for using GrabALap. Plain English, no tricks — read them once and you'll know exactly where you stand.

Last updated: 30 July 2026

1. Who we are

GrabALap is a UK marketplace where motorbike racers sell the telemetry from their fastest laps and other riders buy it to go quicker. When we say "we", "us" or "GrabALap" we mean the operator of grabalap.co.uk. You can reach us any time at info@grabalap.co.uk.

By creating an account or buying anything on the site you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 to hold an account.
  • Give us accurate details and keep your password to yourself. Everything done through your account is treated as done by you.
  • You appear publicly under a username, not your real name, unless you specifically choose otherwise.
  • Tell us straight away at info@grabalap.co.uk if you think someone else has got into your account.
  • You can close your account whenever you like. Ask us and we'll do it.

3. What is actually being sold

A "lap" on GrabALap is a data file recorded by an AiM data logger, plus the details listed alongside it — track, bike, session, conditions and lap time. You open it in AiM Race Studio 3 and compare it against your own riding.

Buying a lap gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use that data to improve your own riding and set up your own bike. It does not transfer ownership. You may not resell it, publish it, share it with people outside your own team, or feed it into a product or service you sell on.

4. If you sell laps (riders)

  • You must own the data you upload, or have clear permission from whoever does. Don't upload another rider's lap as your own.
  • Describe it honestly. The track, bike, session type, conditions and lap time must match the file.
  • Once someone has bought a lap, you can't withdraw their access to it.
  • You keep responsibility for anything you upload; you grant us the licence we need to store it, show it on the site and deliver it to buyers.
  • We can remove a listing that looks inaccurate, misdescribed or not yours.

5. Commission, prices and payouts

Riders set their own lap prices. GrabALap takes a commission on each sale, and the rest is yours. The commission depends on your tier:

  • Free Rider — you keep 85%
  • Pro Rider — you keep 95%
  • Pit Boss — you keep 97%

Prices on the site are in pounds sterling. Other currencies shown on the site are an indication only; the amount you are charged is the GBP amount. Payouts are made to the bank details you connect, monthly, and are held for a short period after a sale so that any refund can be settled first.

Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

6. Subscriptions

Pro Rider and Pit Boss are monthly subscriptions. They renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your dashboard — you keep the benefits until the end of the month you've paid for. Team and club plans are arranged individually; get in touch and we'll set them up.

7. Refunds

Lap data is a digital file delivered immediately, so the usual 14-day cancellation right does not apply once you've downloaded it — you agree to that when you buy.

That said, if a file is corrupt, won't open, or is plainly not what the listing described, tell us within 14 days and we'll refund you. Getting slower is not a refund reason; a broken file is.

8. Using the site properly

Don't do any of the following: break into other people's accounts, scrape or bulk-download the site, upload malware, misrepresent who you are, resell what you've bought, or use the site for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that does.

9. Suspension and closure

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we reasonably suspect fraud. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. If money is owed to you at that point, we'll still pay it, less anything genuinely owed to us or to a buyer.

10. What we don't promise

Lap data is guidance from another rider on another bike on another day. It is not instruction, coaching or a setup guarantee, and it does not make any manoeuvre safe. Riding a motorcycle, on track or on the road, is done entirely at your own risk and remains your responsibility.

We work hard to keep the site up and the data accurate, but we don't promise the site will never go down or that a listing is free of every error.

11. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost race results, or damage to a bike, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

If you're buying as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects you, we'll email you before it takes effect.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK you keep the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

14. Getting in touch
